The Swedish government has endorsed electromobility by offering annually a total of
€35 million in financial incentives to those who have bought electric bikes, mopeds or motorcycles. The initiative will enter into force on 1 February 2018 and will run until 2020.
Sveriges Motorcyklisters (SMC) contributed significantly in persuading the government to include motorcycles in the proposal.
The Minister of the Environment Karolina Skog states in the press release: ”More electric bicycles, motorcycles and mopeds can improve the conditions for commuting in a climate-friendly manner.”
