MODALES: reducing air Pollution by modifying user behaviour

    18 July 2019

From September 2019, FIA Region I will participate in the new EU research project MODALES (MOdify Drivers’ behaviour to Adapt for Lower EmissionS).

Funded under the Horizon 2020, the EU framework programme for research and innovation, the main goal of MODALES is to contribute to the substantial reduction of air pollution from all types of motorised vehicles.

In particular, MODALES will encourage the adoption of low-emission driving behaviour and vehicles maintenance choice. The main goal is to advance the understanding of co-variability in user behaviour and of emissions generated by powertrain, brakes and tyres.

The project will organise dedicated training, also via a driver assistance app, and awareness campaigns.

FIA Region I is involved in MODALES’ awareness, communication and dissemination activities, securing the involvement of key stakeholders, such as drivers, and disseminating the project’s findings.
